Why Stay in Malaysia

I came across a Tumblr about Why Stay in Malaysia? because I thought why not post photos of our own sky scrapper, people, food instead of posting things about other countries though I do love them much on my Tumblr. It's a 2011 project but come on, stuffs like this doesn't get old, does it? This is one of the story :

This story sent by Jessica a/p Soosai is particularly touching. Let us share with you this experience as Jessica sent it to us.

“I’ve got a story I feel must be shared but I do not know what channel to post it to.

It is an experience my mother-in-law had recently.

She went to a Church gathering in Cameron Highlands. At this point of time, she just had her breast removed because of cancer and yet she still went for the said camp.

At this Church camp, she received a donation (which was put in a envelope with the Church Logo and her name on it, written “Donation for Breast Cancer”). My mother-in-law did not bother to check the amount in the envelope as it was a donation. After the camp was over, they were heading back to Mentakab (her house). While on the way, someone wanted to use the loo very badly and they stopped over in Raub where the envelope together with her purse dropped somewhere. My mother-in-law did not realise that her purse and the envelope filled with money was missing. She went straight to Mentakab and only then did she realize the whole thing was missing. She dared not tell anyone and just prayed that whoever got the things in her purse and the money would not misuse it.

Imagine to her surprise, when the following day one of the Church members called her and said that someone had found the purse and the envelope and they were enquiring for her contact number. An hour after the Church member called her, a Malay man called her and said that he had found my mother-in-law’s purse and the envelope and he wanted to come and give it personally to her.

After giving them the address, the following day, three young guys who are actually working as vendors (those who sell pens, socks, other items from place to place) came to visit her to give her back the items that they found. Mind you, they came from Raub to Mentakab in a public transport. The moment these Malay guys saw my mother-in-law, they hugged her and tapped her shoulder and said “Sabar Aunty, Tuhan lebih tahu” (“Be strong, Aunty. God knows best”).

Since they all came in a public transport, my mother-in-law invited them for lunch and gave these 3 guys money for their trip and their food. They declined politely. Aftermy mother-in-law insisted that they accept her token of appreciation, they took the money and immediately handed the money back to her saying,

Aunty, ini sumbangan kami untuk pembedahan aunty”. (“Aunty, this is our contribution to your surgery”).

My mother-in-law was so touched that she cried and the young men cried too, saying “Sabar Aunty”. Then they left saying they had to go back to Raub to work.

I think these guys are truly Malaysian.”
